Firstly, Ghana is to start selling its own “made in Ghana” vehicles. After Nigeria, Ghana is the second African country where a local entrepreneur launches a new line of cars made locally and for his own brand, rather than just assembling cars for an international manufacturer.

Kwado Safo Jr is the man behind the exploit and the CEO and founder of Kantaga Group. The young entrepreneur has confidence in his latest production and and is reported to have giving the car first to the Ghanaian police to rough handle it for sometime, as a means to test its quality and durability.  African entrepreneurship and ingenuity is now rising up to meet the challenges of a global market, at same time as it meets the needs of the local consumers. There is no doubt the continent needs manufacturing heroes help assist its industrial output, as a rising economic powerhouse.

On another chapter,  a young Malawi preacher known as Shepherd Bushiri just got his  third private jet delivered this week, on January 6th, 2016. The malawi born Reverend who ministers in South Africa believes that he is “a man of God who needs to lead by example and he can do all things trough Christ and wants to inspire other Christians and other men of God”.

On new year’s eve, Shepherd Bushiri made history in South Africa by filling the largest stadium in the country and the continent for the 2015-16 crossover prayer and worship service. He is also reported to have confirmed that he plans to start a new bank and a mobile company in South AFrica.

There is no doubt that Bushiri, known by many as Major 1, has plenty of ambition and a great deal of faith in his ability to achieve success in what he does and what he thinks God can do through him. The young Pastor is now one the richest pastors in Africa and in the world and certainly the richest Malawi person in the world. Whilst Bushiri’s actions can be controversial and one may wonder why a man of God needs three private jets, it is nonetheless a great story of achievement for a young person in the continent. The simple fact that this achievable in Africa is an illustration of the change in the continent.

Both Bushiri’s jet acquisition and Kwado Safo Jr’s launch of a new car are two great stories showing the  dynamics of change, entrepreneurship and positive transformation that is taking place in the continent that was once seen as a basket case and a burden to the world.
