Jeff Mitshabu is an African -Australian who arrived in Australia over 25 years ago. In this telephone interview with AMA’s Clyde Sharady, he shares his view about the ingredients for succesful integration and gives other tips to his fellow African-Australians struggling with many issues in their settlement and integration journey into Australia.

Born in the Democratic Republic of C.ongo (DRC) and migrated to Australia 25 years ago. Holder of a Masters degree in agricultural and food products from the University of Sydney. Currently works for the federal Department of Agriculture in Canberra as a senior project officer. Member of the Professionals Australia and Senior Consultant and responsible for Africa and Australia with the GIG Corporation. Former executive of ARWA Australia and former Secretary general of the African Communities Council of NSW. Married, father and grandfather.
