Opportunity knocking for Afro-australians

by  Africa Media Australia

The latest round of the NAB/Jesuit Social Services Africa Australian Inclusion Program (AAIP) is now open for applications.

The program offers African-Australian individuals with aspirations of working in business/commerce/banking sector an opportunity for a six months program of paid, supported working experience at National Bank. Applications need to have relevant qualifications in the industry.

The organisers of this highly commended program have reported that the lack of local work experience prevents qualified African-Australians from gaining employment and  the AAIP helps overcome this barrier by offering work experience in business roles.

Since 2009, over 300 participants have taken part in the program, and as of June 2017, 75% of participants who graduated from the program have found ongoing employment within their chosen field.”
