Police are appealing for public assistance following stabbing in Hoppers Crossing last week.
Emergency services were called to Mossfiel Reserve off Guinane Avenue to reports of an injured man about 6.50pm on 7 May.
Investigators have been told a group of about six male youths were involved in an altercation with a second group, resulting in 23-year-old Hoppers Crossing man suffering several stab wounds.
He was been taken to hospital in a stable condition.
Several of the males in the group of youths were perceived to be of Asian appearance, while one was perceived to be of African appearance.
All were described as being in their late teens.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed or filmed the incident to come forward.
