Changepreneurs in Melbourne Empower Community Members with Leadership Training

Changepreneurs, in partnership with Australian Multicultural Community Services (AMCS), has successfully concluded a dynamic 8-week Multicultural Leadership Course. This initiative brought together a diverse group of participants from various communities, ages, and genders, showcasing a commitment to empowering youth, women, and multicultural communities at the grassroots level and beyond.

The course focused on building champions and igniting the spirit of community development, resulting in significant strides toward fostering inclusive growth and collaboration. The program’s success was achieved with the collaboration of s  AMCS and Learn Local, in the Wyndham municipality.

The organisers have reported their satisfaction with the delivery of the training course.They also  highlighted the important and unique opportunity for participants to benefit from Elizabeth Drozd’s wisdom and experience in community leadership matters. Ms Drozd is a senior CALD community expert who is now retiring after delivering her last training course to Changepreneurs.

The main organiser for this leadership training, Ms Abiola Akinbiyi, is a trailblazer who tirelessly advocate for Changepreneurs and members of other African community. She worked with other dedicated team members of Changepreneurs , including Fatimah and  Sanjana-Preeti to deliver the course in coloration with  AMCS. The training attracted  over 40 participants from various community groups and participants are eagerly awaiting the  graduation ceremony to celebrate their achievement learning more about community leadership.

Changepreneurs is a group of young women passionate about implementing strategies for change within the community. The group is based in Hoppers Crossing, Melbourne West and aims  to encourage education, entrepreneurship and mentorship by providing resources and opportunities for young people to thrive.
