Many Australians have condemned the rally organised last weekend by far-right extremists in St Kilda, Melbourne.
Blair Cottrell, a convicted criminal, is one of the main organisers of the demonstration. He is a known by law-enforcement agencies for his criminal and anti-immigration activities, especially his hatred against Africans and Muslims in Australia.
A heavy police presence was observed during the rally to ensure there was no clash between the fascist mob and an opposing anti-racism group that was present at St Kilda to help counter the hatred from the extremists.
Independent Senator Fraser Anning who attended the rally in support of the fascist group has been widely condemned across the political divide for his action.
Senator Anning is being asked not to charge the cost of his trip to the tax payer, but the defiant right-wing politician maintains that his trip was part of his job as a politician.
African community leaders have widely condemned the demonstration through comments on social media.
