Bourke Street Attack 9th November 2018 – African Australian Communities Response
Like all well-meaning and decent Victorians, the entire African Australian communities are deeply saddened and stand united in condemning the abhorrent and despicable attack in Bourke Street on Friday 9th November 2018.
We stand with the victims of this incident and send our sincere condolences to their families and friends.
We commend and thank Victoria Police for their swift, measured and professional response in bringing the situation promptly under control. We are proud to have one of the finest Police forces in the world.
We strongly support Victoria Police and other security forces with their sterling effort and work to keep all Victorians safe. We urge anyone with information that might assist the security forces with their investigations, to come forward.
The overwhelming majority of African Australians in Victoria are law abiding and condemn any acts that threaten our peaceful, vibrant and multicultural state of Victoria that we love so dearly.
