AMA is organising a community forum on Saturday 4 May 2013 to discuss political engagement, democratic participation and community leadership. The forum will discuss ideas and practical ways to help improve the strength, quality and impact of the leadership in African-Australian community groups. The forum will also seek to encourage Africans to vote, as well as stand for political office as a means to advance the interests of the broader African community and contribute to the progress of the Australian society. Last, but not least the forum will look at ways to encourage collaboration between different African groups as a means to create power for change.
